About Sarah

Sarah Blonsky is a Whitnall parent and community member running for a seat on the Whitnall School District School Board. She is a stay-at-home mom to her two beautiful children Monty and CeCe. Her husband, Dan, is a community pharmacist with Omnicare. They bought their first home in Greenfield nearly 9 years ago and are proud to be a part of the Whitnall community.
Sarah has a wide variety of personal and professional experiences that make her an ideal board member. She has also taken the initiative to educate herself about policies, resources and programs that benefit all families. Some of these include:
- Former kindergarten teacher in School District of New Berlin. Currently holds an elementary education teaching license.
- 7 years of experience as an unpaid disability advocate. Sarah has helped countless families throughout the Greater Milwaukee area navigate the complex systems of community and special education services including Medicaid, Children’s Long Term Support Waiver, early intervention, and more.
- Sarah co-founded and runs a support group for over 200 parents of children with Down Syndrome. This group provides resources, emotional support, and care packages to families.
- Trained parent mentor and volunteer with Parent-to-Parent Wisconsin. Parent-to-Parent is a non-profit that supports family members of children with disabilities.
- GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee 2018 Volunteer of the year. GiGi’s Playhouse is a non-profit that provides free therapeutic, educational, and social programming for people with Down Syndrome and other disabilities.
- 2020 Partners in Policymaking Graduate. This intensive training program focuses on advocacy through the legislative process.
- 2023 Families as Partners Graduate through Wisconsin Statewide Parent Educator Initiative. This training focuses on leadership skills and building relationships that can improve student outcomes.
- Founding member of the Whitnall Resident Engagement Network. WREN is a grassroots network focused on informing, supporting, and taking action for the Whitnall community to build a better future for all students, staff, and the community.
Sarah Blonsky is dedicated to serving her community. She is a passionate and respected community member who isn’t afraid to speak up and take action. She has a track record of consistent service and would love the opportunity to serve all of Whitnall’s students.
Sarah Blonsky would bring her unique ability to solve problems using all available resources, connections, and relationships to the board. This ability to leverage her knowledge and social capital makes her an effective AND efficient leader. This is exactly what the Whitnall School Board needs.
